Welcome

What we do

We are a volunteer-run organisation, led by local solicitors who are committed to supporting their peers and serving the wider community. Everything we do is driven by professionals who understand the unique needs and challenges of practicing law in our region.

OUR key areas of focus include

  • We back programs and services that improve access to justice and support the legal needs of our community, working closely with local courts, legal aid, community legal centres and local charities.

  • We represent the interests of our members on issues that matter — from court resourcing and policy reform to the specific concerns of rural and regional practice.

  • We provide and coordinate continuing legal education (CLE) opportunities through seminars, workshops, and events tailored to the needs of local practitioners. Including our regular Young Lawyers (in Practice) seminars.

  • We believe in giving back. Our members regularly present at local schools, speak at public seminars, and contribute to charity events — helping to improve legal literacy and support local causes.

  • We foster a strong, connected legal community through regular meetings, networking events, and mentoring — providing a space for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and mutual support.

Our COMMITTEE

Our Society is built by and for local solicitors and other members of the legal community, working together to uphold professional standards, strengthen the legal profession, and contribute positively to the Albury region.
